Ann"s book of Poems, Flight into the Dawn, A Collections of Poems Celebrating Life's Moments, came out in 2002.  As described on the back cover:

across planets and stars you did travel

to seek life on earth, here to unravel

a destiny sweet and full of great fortune

a life of endless horizon, free from distortion

In these lines, from the beginning of her poem “Who You Are”, Ann Kiyonaga-Razon evokes a sense of the possible for each of us.  Our time on this planet is a gift, an evolution toward enlightenment. And, her poems bespeak this magic.  They call forth the wondrous in “ordinary” moments, spanning such topics as the breeze coming in through an open window, life with her two small children, and the need to wake up to our inherent divinity.

Enjoy these poems, these expressions of life’s sacredness.  They are a celebration of the moments, the time we are given here on this turning, blue-green globe.

A reader made the following comments;

“Flight into the Dawn is a pleasure cruise into the delights of life, flowing with delicious revelations of Presence.”

I wrote a poem this morning (March 4, 2010) and feel inspired to share it with all of you.  Enjoy!

Have You Put Out Your Shingle Yet?

have you put out your shingle yet

have you decided to tell the world

about the business upon which

you are embarking

have you put out your shingle yet

indicating

that you are now open for the business of

living your life

recognizing

who you are

at that deepest level

and highest arching point

that you know all power is within you

and that you were given this awesome opportunity

to come to this planet

and become free

totally, ecstatically free

and thus offer that highest service

of pure being

that it is all within your perception

and your sweet effortless effort

to align with that inherent grace

which you are

that regardless of how things seem

to appear

you are never the victim

for all experience can be

used

to come to that highest

recognition

of self

and other

the recognition

that we are untrammeled

light

love

divinity

and that this perception unleashes the

magic

mystery

unbounded playfulness

and joy

of this Gaia experience

and then we discover that deepest

of consolations

that who we are

pure awareness

can never be touched

by circumstance

by outer prevailing winds

and constant

sanctuary is

ours

and we are free

in each moment of time

we are free

to serve

to love

to be

so

I ask you

have you put out

your

beautiful, shiny, recently painted

lovingly hung

shingle

yet?

An additional note…This whole poem was prompted by a conversation I was having this morning with my younger son as I took him to school.  I used the term, to “hang out your shingle” and then proceeded to explain what that meant.  And, then, this poem started coming to me on my way back home…
